Going to my first ever concert at the Apollo in April for Emeli Sande (usually go to MEN) and i am not sure how things work so can someone please tell me? Do you queue outside the venue? How early do you have to be there for you to be able to get to the front (we are standing)?
Anything else i may need to know please just say
Thank you

I wasn't aware that the Apollo had standing areas.Life is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.0

They remove the seats on the bottom floor apparently for standing x:T Became Mrs Allison on 23rd April 2011 :T

Never been to a standing concert there, I'm afraid, so can't help on that.
If you are planning on staying in Manchester overnight my tips would be that the Apollo's a bit on the outskirts, so we usually get a hotel in the center of Manchester and hail a taxi to get there and back - there are usually plenty of black cabs around (that it's legal to just flag down from the side of the road). If you do this, then after the concert, walk down the main road AWAY from the town centre, as that way you manage to get to see the cab coming from further out of town into the centre and hail them before they reach the crowds at the venue .....0 -
if you want a decent hotel in the middle of manchester, I would recommend The Place. I've stayed there twice when we went to see Take That and its great and right next door to Piccadilly train station if you are going by trainYou're so very special, I wish I was special :dance:0

Not sure what Emile Sande fans are like in terms of hardcore queuing, but certainly get there early if you want to be at the front. Some artists I've been to see there I've queued all day to be at the front, others I've rolled up just before opening time and got on the barrier.
The apollo is actually pretty good for standing, as it's sloped so you can still see even if you're nearer the back.0 -
Whenever I've been to the Apollo in Manchester I stay at the Macdonald hotel -http://www.macdonaldhotels.co.uk/our-hotels/macdonald-manchester-hotel-spa/. You can walk from the hotel to the venue in ten to fifteen minutes, and it's a lovely hotel.0

Plenty of people queue before doors open but there's no need to.
Ring the venue around 4pm on the day and they can tell you the stage times. Turning up an hour before she's due on will give you time for a drink at the packed bar upstairs but there's another bar at the front to the left of the stage as you look at it to get you nearer the front.
