    I think if I were a FTB today I would endure a bit of quietly fuming resentment for those ahead of me on the ladder that had by sheer luck bagged a load of equity, but then I'd shrug shoulders and in a sanguine manner get on with trying to emulate thier fortune.

    Those buying right now will one day be resented by the next generation.

    We have not reached some special point in time where a ftb can never repeat the equity surf ride.

    Maked your own luck and never believe for a second that property wont from time to time put on huge value growth that will surprise all the experts.

    haha, nowhere near that age group.

    But still I'm old enough to realise that the property market will always be manipulated (by central banks, lenders, builders, central + local government) in favour of prices being as high as feasibly possible, with prolonged periods of explosive price growth and a few years of stagnation in-between.
