It's really windy here too, we are 900 ft above sea level! I use plastic pegs from Morrisons, which were not expensive. I'd say they are roughly A shaped and have no spring in them. They seem pretty strong, I have only broken two in about 18 months!

I'm assuming this is a typo, but I can't figure out which store you meant. What are the plastic ones shaped like?

The poster meant 'Wilkos'. Look at your keyboard - she's got her right hand one key to the right of the correct letter.

I use "Peg-a-pegs" from Lakeland in windy weather and have never had any laundry blown off the line. Occasionally I've found one peg on an item has come loose, but the others have stayed in place.

HTH! Good luck, I take it you live on a hill!

One job at a time in future!
  • I have bought some line hangers, you put your washing on on the hangers, the pegs don't break and it take the ironing out of clothes. Here's the website http://www.linehanger.com/: j

You might have to type the website in.

I got cyclone pegs like newmrslockwood but from the local post office. I can't remmber how much they cost but it's less than the ebay ones. Checkout local cheap hardware stores for them as opposed to the bigger shops.
  • I use stainless steel pegs a friend gave me. I think she got them from a company in Scotland. They really are excellent and come with a lifetime guarantee. Even my 6 year old son cannot break them and he breaks everything! The washing never slides down the line, and when the last of my plastic ones wear out I'm going to order some more.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
