We had a bit of a disaster with my hubbys SII a couple of days ago and a glass of wine accidently got spilled over it. We have had it opened up near a radiator to try and dry it out and at first it came on but wouldn't charge, now it wont come on either, I know it's a long shot but is there anything that can be done?

Did you clean the wine off or just open it and let it dry? That will prob leave a residue which I doubt could be good.
Best thing for any electricals is to take it apart as far as possible and stick it in a bag of rice in an airing cupboard for a few days.
Failing this you could try a mobile repair shop but it's always a bit dodgy with liquid damage what repair may be done and how long it lasts with corrosion etc.

Update to the problem!!! I have the same phone so we tried charging the battery in my phone which worked. When we put it back in the phone all we got was the battery meter and then a warning triangle with a thermometer next to it. My hubby left it on to see if it cleared itself so obviously the battery was discharging and weirdly when the charge had gone down the phone came back on again so it's as if it wont take a full battery but will take a slightly discharged one. Any suggestions please? If practice makes perfect, and nobody is perfect....................................
