Has anyone tried to do this ?
Or even thought about it and got to the point of having a favoured piece of kit ?
I need to extend an established wifi network to go about a 50 m diameter from the building ..That would be maximum ..mostly it would be less ..
my pc has a pretty good extra wife antenna fitted so that would help ..I just want something stronger on the router end ..
Any ideas to help me get started would be much appreciated
Thanks

For reliable fast WiFi at 50m you'll do better putting the antenna on an outside wall.0

That may well be a Freudian slip ....
I could also do with some advice on a wife extender ..so much more MSE than trading her in for newer model
I shall edit ..:o0 -
Sorry OP, but you walked into that one:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

You've given Marley & myself a really good laugh so although we can't help with the wifi, we'll put our minds to the question of a wife extender for you:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls
MSE: many of the benefits of a helpful family, without disadvantages like having to compete for the tv remoteProud Parents to an Aut-some son

I am thinking along those lines myself
The problem I have is that the pc moves around ..one day in one place ..next day maybe 20 metres to the right ..So something that does not point in one direction seems to be the way.0 -
Your looking for something similar to this http://www.wifi-antennas.co.uk/1000mw-bi-directional-indoor-outdoor-booster-unit.html
But I know you can get them cheaper if you sniff around ebay\amazon.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A
