Gumtree help with horrible seller

Options
PLEASE READ.....
Hi... Need serious help....

Bought bag from gumtree, 70pounds
10 pounds of that was for postage....
Bank transfer after many many emails from seller showing that we agreed on a price and an agreement so it acts as evidence (i now its risky.... but I took the plunge really wanted the bag ) and she even said in her emails several times a full refund given if I didn't like it

Seller sent bag second class... Postage stamp showed seller sent it a week later than claimed... she said it was because the post office must have kept it in due to weather?!!! Lie.
Bag I got was wrong one. NOT LIKE THE MANY PICTURES I was shown via email.... it was a tiny wallet i paid for a large bag
Seller claimed her husband must have mixed up addresses. Now the husband became her boyfriend a few days later....
She said she would send correct one out once the other person who got my bag by mistake sent it back to her... I waited... as she refused to give a refund claiming she couldn't afford it.... and even said I would pay extra for recorded special delivery as this was getting long... Seller agreed... then ignored me for a few days and came back to tell me she sent it out second class... I was angry and seller accused me of abuse but I have emails showing I was NOT abusive at all just asking for proof or postage... didn't give it to me.

So I waited for the correct bag.... Waited 2 weeks... nothing came. Seller said we have to file a claim to royal mail. I asked for her to forward me all evidence of royal mail emails and a picture of receipt... Seller again said I am abusing her and she has a life and he's not home on every ocassion has found an excvuse to not send me anything....

Now over a month later and Literally 100's of emails later...
the latest is... seller said she made a claim to royal mail for lost parcel.... NO evidence given to me of such a claim. Asked several time.
NO evidence of postage.... Asked several times.

Now I said I am going to contact gumtree, and the fraud department the police form gave me a number to which is open tomorrow morning .
Seller flips out and says they will not pursue the royal mail claim coz I contacted the police and she is saving all evidence to show them etc
STILL not forwarding me anything to stop my taking this further....

Extra notes: Seller never gave me an address to return wrong item asked her several times.
No evidence of postage given
No evidence of any royal mail contact
EVERY time I asked for anything seller would vanish and then come back and say oh I posted it already .... whenever I SPECIFICALLY asked for recorded special next day and THEY AGREED
Now seller keeps saying ''oh so now you have gone to the police let them sort it out i am blocking you i will withdraw the royal mail claim''
And seems like they have stopped replying too.
Now I know I won't get my money back probably but I just have to know what happened... seller is just full of excuses and no evidence.

What can I do?

Live in london seller is in scotland... hence couldn't view before buy

Any advice would be great... thanks

I think you've been had, bank transfer for a high end item on gum tree- really A very very bad idea.

Normally I would say that you still have the option of small claims, but I'm not sure how that is affected by seller being in Scotland.

Got to agree with Soolin here.

I would say that you have no redress, as Gumtree is not like E.Bay, and it's a case of buyer beware. You could contact Gumtree, but I think you might have to put it down to experience.
That's my mutt in the picture above.
