Carer to Full Time Student

I've been caring for close family members for a good few years, and over recent years have claimed carers allowance and income support as well as mortgage interest payments. It has got to the point where I have to do something with my life as it's making me ill and very depressed.

I applied to do a degree at my local university in desperation and despair in January, and, given that it is 30 years since I did my A levels, and have only done a recent short OU course, I was amazed to get an unconditional offer to do a full time BSc.

As I will still be caring, but obviously have to give up those carers payments, and substitute them with the student finance, I just wondered if I would have the underlying entitlement to Carers Allowance?
