I have just stumbled upon an old account that I had when I was a child for The Leeds Permanent BS From 1987 It only has £8 in it but where has that money gone?
I am aware that Halifax merged with The Leeds Permanent BS years ago and may have taken on this account which may still be open
Who knows that after 20 years I may now have accumulated enough interest to have a tenner?
Anyone know how I would go about finding out

Pop into your local Halifax branch and ask them to take a look
(They will probably need to send it off to head office for you though).43580 -

Your account will be classed as dormant. You would need to fill in this form - the branch would not be able to view account due to time scale.
My guess is, if I remember rightly, accounts were closed/made dormant with less that £50 after a certain timescale
was the account solely in your name, or was someome trustee for you?0
