Salad ingredients are normally grown in areas where insects are generally found, and although these salad ingredients are washed and packed to make them as hygenically acceptable as possible taking into account the price being charged for them, unless every leaf, fruit and root is individually inspected and cleaned, (with a selling price to cover these costs) there is no way to totally ensure that the beasties that live in the same environment won't occasionally find their way into the produce concerned.
A dried dragonfly will in all likelyhood be about as harmful as the dried bacteria, spores and other dead things that will be present in just about all prepackaged foods that you eat.0 -

^This.
You can either pay the current price and risk the odd insect in every bag out of 100 sold. Return it for a refund/exchange and maybe a goodwill voucher. Or Tesco would have to charge £10 per bag of salad to cover manpower costs of inspection and we would be getting threads on here moaning about the extortionate price of salad. The man without a signature.0 -
Am I the only one who would actually find it interesting to get a dragonfly in my salad.
If only people knew what was in the soil their salad grows in!0 -

Mine grows in my rabbits poo, or at least my rabbits poo that's been composted, it also gets watered with the dirty water from my fish tank so has fish poo on it too.
My salad, fruit and veg grow wonderfully and taste great0
