Replying to Feedback You've Left?

I bought an inexpensive item from a business seller who sent a damaged item out, then stopped answering messages when I asked them to pay for return or give a partial refund. Opened a case which was closed after ebay gave me a no fault refund, as seller was still refusing to pay return postage (item was £3.44 with free p&p).

Left a neg and they immediately sent me a message asking why I didn't contact them first (ha!), and have replied to the feedback saying I hadn't done so, can I reply to this?

  • Yes, go to your feedback and scroll to the bottom. You get three options, take the last; follow up to feedback left.

Don't break policy or the seller may get the whole lot (and stars) removed.
  • Fab, thanks! Knew I was missing it somewhere fairly obvious.

Was going to post the following - 'I did contact you first, but you did not offer to pay return postage when asked.'

Best I can think of (too tired :o ), and haven't mentioned the case, so should be safe?

  • You could follow up with:

I did indeed contact you but received no response when trying to reach a conclusion with you.

You get the last word, as they cannot add further follow up feedback.
  • Out of interest, how did you message them?
I've found messaging via the ebay app is glitchy - so maybe if this is how you messaged the seller that way it might explain why they're saying they didn't hear from you.
