thanks ... that's useful ...
how do i do this ?
RESOLUTION
To avoid this behavior, contact your program vendor to see if an update is available that enables the program to work correctly with DEP.
isn't there a couple of easy clicks i can do to sort !! .. no understanding of these techie matters !! .0 -
actually i see further down there is various steps to take ...
i suppose the more important question i should be asking is ....do i do this? ... why has the issue arisen ?.. on a 4 week old new machine .. etc etc .

WHICH WORKED A TREAT... AS EVERYONE ELSE ON THAT THREAD SAID .. UNTICKING THE COUPLE OF BOXES .
but it's come back again ... think subsequent to me running various clean ups etc ..
and i can't get rid . The 2 boxes are still unticked .
Any ideas ??
thanks0 -
Page 6 of that thread says to download and run the uninstaller from http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q111006, and if that doesn't cure it, download Windows Installer Cleanup from http://www.support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/en and remove the Sonic Activation Module with it.pennymakespounds wrote: »http://www.dellcommunity.com/support...ssage.id=50930

sorry chippy... think i goofed .
i had read posts saying that the 2 items that needed unticking were sometimes duplicated .. i looked for that first and was sure they weren't .
checked again yesterday and one of them was .. unticked it and it seems to have gone away .
