Typing test

  • For an admin type of role where there's a typing test involved, you should be aiming for at least 70wpm with perfect accuracy. Whatever your excuse you still made 7 mistakes and 36wpm is below national average for typing speed, which is 40wpm.

I had a typing test recently and the document I was working from said that you should aim for a minimum 50wpm.

I just did one out of curiosity - 79wpm and no mistakes - yay!

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

I now know for future reference that nails were not a good idea.

I am a good typer but not great at copying if that makes sense. What is done is done now. it is mainly reception work and a little bit of admin. From the job spec there isn't really alot of typing at all.

Hopefully my other experience will go in my favor, it isn't like it is a data entry position.

Some typists can type approx 100wpm with perfect accuracy. I know I won't be spending my days fine honing my typing skills. I'll probably get arthritis if I did that.
