Double Glazing - Spectus Elite 70 v Profile 22

Hello

I am a first time poster under this account though I have been lurking for the forums for a very long time!

I moved into my house last year and the winter has convinced me that we need to get our single glazed windows replaced. I've had 3 quotes which are all fair (except for Everest who I am disregarding due to price).

The other 2 are local firms both of whom we know their workmanship is very good. However they use very different types of frames therefore the quote is very different. The quotes are -

Spectus elite 70 - grade a glass - £7.900
Profile 22 - grade a glass and frame with compsite door - £12,000

Does anyone have any information on either frame such that I can make an informed choice?

Thanks

Nothing wrong with either profile, as long as you get A rated glass and a decent fitting team.

Looks expensive to me too. How big is the house? How many windows/doors is it for?
  • what area are you in we fit profile 22 and may be able to find you an installer

  • See my post about my recent experience!! Don't trust them to do it properly, check on everything and don't pay them anything until you are completely satisfied. I consider myself pretty savvy about things but my fitter/supplier has been a nightmare. Best of luck.
  • We are in a four bed cottage in the Worcestershire area. We have a total of 2 doors and 15 other windows of varying sizes. I appreciate as they aren't standard sizes the cost will be more but I am trying to get an accurate quote.

Dave thanks for your comment, I will take your experience on board!
