Good girl Hester - very OS - free and fun ;)

We went out for a romantic meal last night - was lush and we rounded the evening off with coffee and brandy at home then a bit of Hestering:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Love the idea of a 'bit of Hesterning'!!

    Afternoon All

The weather here is horrible, that kind of drizzle that gets you very wet - anyone in the West of Scotland will know what I mean! Thought I saw that it was going to be a nice day so stripped my bed but that is now on the airers.

Builder came regarding the leaky shed roof (it's a big shed and the house is for sale) so the cheapest option is the one to go for. He will get onto it next week hopefully. Whilst he was here he noticed one of my car tyres had a gash in it so have been for a new one.

Job for today is mainly to list tools from said shed on Gumtr££, quite hard when you don't know what most of it is! Still I need to get rid of it so will advertise it all cheaply.

JackieO - Enjoy your memory day.
HH - Have a good rest (or not)!
Hope everyone else is well, take care. XX

    Hi everyone :)
Was it just me or was getting up this morning hard work? Sheesh! Hubby had to wake me twice to get me up & in the shower to get ready for work!
Hope everyone is having a good day.
We've got friends coming for the weekend & we're going out tonight for a meal, yum! No Hestering tonight in this house, lol! Hestering -That made me chuckle
Love the idea of your Sunday roast!!!! :rotfl:
Made Bourbon biscuits today. NEVER AGAIN! They're dry, sweet and sickly, messy to make & despite washing my hands twice, they're still sticky! Yuck! The kids like them tho so they won't go to waste.
Right, I'm off to get ready for tonight, enjoy the rest of your day everyone.

    afternoon all
feels a lovely spring afternoon today. just been out to do my weekly shop. although im doing well if i stick to my strict budget of 250 pounds (2 adults 2 kids) ive only got 50 pounds left to spend for next week....its doable but then ill need a bigger shop the week after. i may as well spend the usual 60 pounds and admit defeat. im doing so well anyway. that figure is half what i normally spend.
anyway. had bad head for two nights. so painful last night and felt sick and dizzy. felt the same this morning but got myself showered and make up on to see if it makes me feel any better and it did. had my hair cut v short yesterday and it feels such good condition.
    have a good afternoon everyone

    Evening
Bright and dry here today, had 2 loads of washing out, almost dry, will leave overnight on airer and hopefully will be ready to put away. DW also been on and emptied, funny I never have to "remind" myself 5 times to do it! Put BM on when I got up which was good as friend dropped by and we ended up eating half a loaf for lunch.
nmlc so glad you posted about diary, reminded me to add to my grocery shop spreadsheet. Did end up in Asd@ this week but still kept under budget, largely due to all food in freezer from bigger but same money spent Ald! shop.
Think from now on it should always be referred to as "Hestering" made me chuckle.
Tea is takeaway secret chicken, with HM wedges and beans which DS is asking how long it will be :)

  • Hello All,

Hope you are all well. I am just popping by to say that I have been told my absence on FB has been noticed. I have simply deactivated my account for a wee while as I had a few privacy concerns after everything that has been happening recently. I have reactivated it for the odd twenty minutes here and there to check my settings and check up on a couple of relatives but that's all. I'll be back to normal soon, I hope.

Lots of love to you all. HM calzone for the menfolk for tea and boulangere potatoes and cauliflower cheese for me.

I was just worried about you jackie x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

I excelled myself at Aldi this week £130. I think i must have bought one of everything the store stocks! In fairness. Hubby chucked in an electric blanket and some 3 in 1 oil but the rest came from me. His face went a nasty shade of purple when he paid and muttered something like 'its only money'. We sat in the car arguing for ages. He blamed me for overspending and i blamed him for eating like a pig. He blamed me for buying it, i blamed him for eating it.... well you can guess the rest.

He happened to mention he was going to give our daughter £1,000 when she has her baby in August to help with the expenses whilst she is off work on Maternity leave. 'Dont you think thats a bit much?' I commented. 'Its my money, i'll do what i want with it' was his reply.

Tea time was another testing time. 'Youve got no pride in what youve cooked' got answered with 'thats cause i am sick of doing mash'.

Ive shut myself away and i'm staying hidden away too. I guess today hasnt been a good day.:(

Judi: Stick to your guns. £1,000 for having a baby? What's this? Gold-plated potties?

I went to the happiest wedding I've been to for a long time on Thursday. One of our original clients from the drop-in was getting married. They don't have two ha'pennies to rub together so her dress came from a charity shop, her Brother drove her to the church, the ladies in the church decorated it for them, The Rev did the ceremony as cut price as she could manage, the Rev and I transported them from church to reception, their mums had provided a buffet (no cake), three friends brought their instruments and did the music and her sister took photos. Everyone was relaxed and happy, it was lovely.

It's not often I'm in at the launch of a new word in the English language. 'Hestering', I love it. Who's going to tell the Oxford English Dictionary?
