Although RM wouldn't normally allow an extension of the original redirection beyond 2 years, there would be nothing to stop him setting up a new redirection for another 2 years as long as he had sufficient proof of address (such as a credit card statement sent to your address within the last 3 months)
As for "demanding" that the redirection is stopped, you don't make it clear whether you have made this "demand" to RM or your Ex husband. However I would be surprised and a little shocked if RM would even acknowledge to a 3rd party that this service was being supplied to another individual, and especially an estranged spouse!0 -
I only knew about it because my mail went to him..I asked royal mail no point asking my ex .0

Redirection is hopeless anyway.
Most post still gets delivered to the original address in my experience.
It is such a poor service that it should be free.
Typical Royal Mail incompetence.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -

How good and effective the redirection service is entirely depends on the postman who delivers to the original address - if they remember to identify and redirect the mail when preparing their deliveries in the morning the process should work flawlessly. Unfortunately, some posties haven't fully woken up at 5 or 6 am, and that's when mistakes are made.0 -

Ours doesn't bother waking up whilst he's at work at all.0 -
Have you tried asking your ex husband why he's STILL having mail sent to your address after 2 years?
Also, complain to your local delivery office that your personal mail is being incorrectly redirected to your ex husband.0 -
I have asked him but hes too lazy to change his address0
