Credit application advice

My wife and I manage our own credit cards and neither are cardholders on each others accounts. In January I took out a Nationwide credit card solely for the purpose of transferring a balance from an existing card on to their current % for 22 months offer.

My wife now would also like to apply for a new card to do the same from her own current card. The limit on my new card is not great enough to cover her transfer so that is not an option.

Fortunately we are both employed and aim to pay off the balances over the next couple of years.

The long and short of it is how long should she wait for applying for a card after I took one out recently. Does it matter as they are in separate names and also would it matter if she applies for the same offer as I took out or try another provider?

thanks.

    thanks.

She doesn't need to wait at all, even if you're financially linked it's unlikely that your card will affect her chances unless you've got a horrendous credit history.

Both of us have good credit histories (well mine is and hers as far as I know lol). Do you think it matters if she applies for the same card or try another provider?

    Thanks
  • My wife and I applied for Nationwide credit cards within 3 weeks of each other. We each got same apr and credit limit. Anyway, they do a soft search so you have nothing to loose.
