  • Feeling very unorganised - I have been so busy that i keep forgetting to do my diary entries and take out my £10 note. It has made me realise that although two tasks sound very small they are very important as they keep me motivated and feel in control. (I must note that i have NOT fallen of the wagon - the lighbulb is still glowing as bright as ever!)

Anyway another thing that is making me feel out of control is that i know i have to spend more than usual this month and i dont want to :(

I also like to be able to pay some money to each of my debts when i get paid but this month i am going to have to leave the money in my current account because my new job will not pay me until the end of July :( I know it will all work itself out but it is just making me feel a bit demotivated.

I went shopping with my bf and it was good - i picked up lots of bits but he made me try the stuff on and i left the shops with:
2 nice smart sports tops for £20 (for both) and a sports bra for £15. I know it sounds alot but i i have felt terrible in the gym wearing my bfs old teashirts - and i intend to spend alot of time there from now on using my friends free guest pass.

I also bought 4 shirts for £9.50 each from M & S :) for the office - thats it for me.

Anyway I am off today so i intend to tidy up, go to the gym with my new teashirt :) and then have a nice relaxing day reading through this site which i do not normally get a chance to do. :)
  • feeling quite negative about paying my debt off! I hate it ....i wish i had not waste so much money and got into so much debt.

I felt in control over the last month with my £10 weekly allowance and making packed lunches but now i have a little bit of time off and i just want to go out. I want to buy some new clothes and go away for a weekend.

Just met some friends for a meal and automatically chose the cheapest thing on Ithe menu and just listened to all the new clothes and house stuff they have bought. I think it just made me realise how far away my debt free day is :(

I bought 4 new shirts and 2 t shirts that i mentioned before and had to attend a leaving do where i spent £4.50p and i feel out of control of my finances. i just cant see the light at the end of the tunnel today.

I cant really move any of my money around at the moment because i will get no payment until my second month at work grrr :(

Hey chick, don't feel down. Your friends may be in more debt than you they just haven't faced up to it yet. We all get down days and it does sometimes feel as if we are getting nowhere, but you've done so well so far, keep at it, it'll be worth it in the end. Big hugs x

Ditto what GirlRacer has said..... we all have days like this. But you've got to think ahead to how it will feel to have no debt, and once you've paid all yours off, your friends will probably just be having their LBM!!

    Keep smiling xxx

  • Thank u GirlRacer and tigzem for all your support it really means alot. You are right about everything

I have been unwell and so been resting and thinking for a few days (not spending any money- today is the first day that i feel well enough 2 do a few things and come on to the pc so thought i would update my debt diary.

I have noticed that in the last two months i have got my overdraft down from £1500 to £500 :) and although i will not be paid until the end of July i now understand that does not mean that i am slacking but will continue to pay things off as soon as the wages come through :)

Also i have finally managed to move my credit card debt that was 27.9% to a new card at 1.9% till December . Up until now I have been paying £60 a month and it is only paying off £1 per month of the actual total amount owed :(

So after switching the cards around here is where I am now…

£500 This is my overdraft which I have being paying off it is on 15% - I am hoping to finish paying this off when I get paid in July.

£2,704 This was on 27.9% and today I have moved this to a new card on 1.9% till December. I will try and pay this after my overdraft has been paid off- and hopefully by December this credit card will be clear.

£5,000 This is on 12.75% for the life of the balance so will be paid off after the one above.

£2,698 This is on 6.95% for the life of the balance and so will be paid off last.

( I am trying to block out of my mind the large loan but wanted to note that i am continuing to pay back the monthly instalments of £360 and will look at it again when all the cards are clear 

I am off now to try and find some things to sell xxx
  • Oooh I am so angry - i was just reading my old posts and noticed that not only was i paying around £57 in interest on that evil credit card but my debt wasnt going down £1 a month, infact since my lightbulb moment it has gone up by £6 grrrr! I hate banks -just think what fun things i could have done with £57 this month if i had not had to pay interest! I MUST STAY MOTIVATED xxxxx

    xx
