Wedding favour ideas - Las Vegas style

Looking for some wedding favours for our renewal of vows later this year.

We ran away to Vegas and got married last year and thought it would be fun to have something Las Vegas themed for our wedding favours.

We thought of personalised poker chips, which is still an option, but the set up fee can be quite a lot.

We thought about chocolate poker chips (like the chocolate coins you get at Christmas) but can't find any that actually look like poker chips in the UK, and it's soooo expensive getting them shipped from the US.

(Should have bought them when we were over there I guess, but that would have meant having chocolate in the house of a year and not eating it...)

We've also been trying to look into the cost of personalised playing cards to see if we could get small packs of cards with our own customised black and white card back. Keep drawing blanks though.

So - does anyone have any ideas of where I can get poker chips / cards? Of do you have any other ideas for Las Vegas style favours?

chocolate poker chips sounds a good idea - and shipping from the US doesnt work out that expensive - if you can buy the chips for about 7p each (done searches this seems to be the going rate), plus shipping then i think that is a bargain - you are unlikely to find any company in the UK that does any sort of party favour for under 50p a pop, even the crappy nets of sugar almonds tend to cost over £1 each

as your renewal isnt til later in the year, you have more than enough time to use parcel post

quick search on google suggested this link

although if the chocolate is expensive, I can't imagine these being much cheaper - but I guess they can keep them!!! One card each... good luck and congratulations!!!

Keeping chocolate in the house would have been more expensive surely - buy once, eat all....need to buy again :D

just found the link below, they do advertising for companies, might be worth looking, if you haven't, at advertising companies products as I guess that's the kind of thing they do???

    Cheers Flea72

I've seen chocolate poker chips at $18 for 120 woking out at about $0.15 or 8p each. The postage initially put me off however - $37.95 for the $18 pack!

But, your post did make me go back and do some breaking down of figures as per below:

120 chips (1 in each favour bag)
    Total price with P&P - $55.95 = £29.65 = 24p / chip

240 chips (2 in each favour bag)
    Total price with P&P - $79.95 = £42.38 = 18p / chip = 36p / favour bag

360 chips (3 in each favour bag)
    Total price with P&P - $105.95 = £56.15 = 15p / chip = 45p / favour bag

So, not as great as 8p / chip, but not breaking the bank I guess.

    Cheers

Thanks too Murtle. I've already checked out the think-ink site and am casting around to see if this is reasonable quote.

Will check out the other link though.

Funnily enough, I've been researching chocolate casino chips for a charity event and have found a couple of suppliers online that you could try. You can get them from https://www.sweetiebag.com and https://www.chocolatebuttons.co.uk.

    Hope this helps!

Cheers jabs23. In your research did you find out how many chips you get in a 'net'?

I'm a bit of a chocolate poker chip snob though. Seen these already and they don't look like the ones we gambled with in Vegas. Guess the question is will other people know? Maybe I should stop being such a perfectionist :)

    Hiya

I think you get about a dozen in a bag, for about £3 or so. I'm not sure that it really matters that they don't look authentic, people are only going to unwrap them and eat them, after all!

  • I do hope you've looked into getting a mobile casino :0)

You can hire these out and they play with monopoly money. Great fun and will add another 'Las Vegas' touch to your wedding.
