Thank you so much for the information! So I have definitely decided towards taking everything I can! I just wanted confirmation that benefits are affected regardless.

It's particularly complicated as things will change for my partner come January time (he will either be let go from his job and become a jobseeker or be kept on and be paid full wage (he works 37 hrs a week)- PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let it be the second!!!) so will this affect things? Many ask for estimates of the year ahead but how can I offer that unless we know he'll be kept on or not?

You are meant to update student finance if there are any big changes in circumstances.

If they ask you for predicted future earnings just put this years.

Ok, so I'd ring them January time with any changes - and when filling it in to apply for now do I fill in from the 7th January 2013? (when my partner started working) or as we were on benefits as we were entirely on benefits up until the beginning of this year?

It says all on the forms or online how you are meant to do it.

Have you got to the bit about Household Income yet? It asks you for a particular year of income. I suspect its 12/13. If so you would need to wait until April 2013 when you get P60s and such. But its been a few years since I looked at the applications.

Yes, that's the part I have stopped at for now. There is a big deal about applying as soon as so waiting until April time feels like it might be pushing it a bit. Deadline is the end of May I believe? Sorry for all the questions, I'm sure I'll work it out.
