Did anyone watch the compulsive cleaners programme on wednesday night? Do any of you act like that when cleaning? My son says im like that but these people cleaned for up to 60 hrs a week:eek::eek: Do any of you have rituals that you follow?

I've perfected the art of walking past any amount of mess in the house without batting an eyelid, and I barely have to think about it these days, that's how good I am at the ritual ;)

  • I've not watched it yet but looking forward to watching it. Our house is tidy and lived in and staying that way

I didn't watch the programme, but I am messy and if i do get into cleaning mode - to be honest it makes me into a bit of a monster. I become incredibly stressed at everyone, so i live with the mess.

Actually i just got cleaners in. i cannot tell you how embarrasing it was!

Our house is lived in but every so often I get this mad urge to deep-clean the kitchen and bathrooms and woe betide anyone who gets in my way/walks on my clean floor/uses a cup and leaves it on the drainer. :o

Sometimes I give in to that urge, other times I can shut it up with chocolate. :D

Yes, I watched it, I found it fascinating the contrast between the OCD, and the CCL (couldn't care less).
It's one thing to go for the 'lived in' look - which in theory is the 'happy medium' between the two - but on the one hand clean the outside of your windows after it rains, and on the other the guy who hadn't cleaned his flat in the four years he'd been there!
But once it was 'done' then he insisted on shoes off when visitors came so has to maintain a clean floor!!

I'll try and keep a look out for the next one.

I did think the bleach loving lady was a bit much, it can't be good for her children having so much bleach in the house all the time.

Plus I didn't think you should use three different types of cleaner in the loo at the same time! Thought that was rather dangerous and stupid myself.

Hubby can see marks on stuff ive cleaned where i see none. His motto is 'if you do a job, do it well'.

I usually tell him to 'sod off' but it annoys me no end.

So what if theres dog hairs in the corners of rooms? Do i really give a stuff? They are clean dog hairs anyway.:D

Yes I saw it, and I think all of them had mental problems, with the possible exception of the lad in the bedsit, he was just a slob! :D And that lass who cleans for 18 hours a day with umpteen bottles of bleach, needs to go to the doc's for a check up!! Her innards must be turning to mush!!
  • Don't have issues with cleaning but I have to check my door is locked several times before I leave in the morning and check all the plugs in the house are off.
