BP Petrol Station

My husband filled up with £49.93 of fuel on Monday at a BP garage in Newcastle.
The payment has not been earmarked, nor has it been taken.
This is the first time we've used the BP, (normally ASDA or Morrisons).
Has anyone ever had this happen? How do you proceed?
TIA

Ever feel like you take 2 steps forward and 8 back?

The best way to proceed is to ensure there is always £50 in the account because it's 99.9% certain they will take it eventually. Aldi once took over 2 months to debit my account . . .0

Can I just ask...Why are you asking? I wrote and posted a cheque for £2224 last week. It hasn't been presented yet. I will proceed on the assumption that it will be cashed sometime in the future.0 -

Because upon making a debit card payment funds are usually earmarked. Perhaps OP was asking so if it was something unusual they could chase up the BP involved and point out the error/pay for the fuel.0 -
Some petrol stations don't earmark. I know if I use the self service at shell it doesn't earmark and just comes out a few days later. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I follow this advice, never failed me so far.0 -
Does he have a receipt for the transaction? If so, keep it safe in case they try to pursue you for theft.0
