Any tips for free/cheap Glass/CAP/Parkers (full) car valuations?
Options
Hi
I'm starting a new thread in case it helps others too.
I am gathering evidence to help with getting as good an insurance pay out as possible for a car that's probably going to be written off & am looking to get a few full valuations for it.
The Ombudsman's guide (financial-ombudsman.org.uk/publications/technical_notes/motor-valuation.html#5 - thanks to Dacouch in another thread!) states that they will look to trade guides such as Glass's, CAP & Parkers.
I am aware that free valuations do exist, unfortunately they do not take into account details such as actual mileage & just use averages. Therefore I am hoping to find out how to access free or discounted full valuations.
The 3 firms do not seem to be on Topcashback or Quidco.
So far I have found out that Glass's give a slight reduction from £3.95 to £3.49 if you use their android app or £3 on their i-phone app.
A friend with a Which? subscription says I can join for a trial 30 day membership for £1 and then get 5 free CAP full valuations.
With Parkers is it better to just buy the magazine if we'll need a few valuations anyway as we will also be looking to investigate a replacement car?
Any other tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

The price guides you pay for do include milages.
Even the parkers magazine has a section that says add or deduct ££ for every 1000 miles under or over.
Autotrader and Ebay completed sales ususally a good way to value something.
If you want £2000 for your 2001 Rotbox GTRiSXLXGLGHIA. And 20 2004 models with a better spec sold on ebay for £1500 then your going to struggle.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
