    3 to 6 months would probably be a good idea and also make sure your on the electoral roll so they can verify your identity easily.

    @Stephane; I do know I'm going for a long-shot, but I don't see the harm in one search. I won't bother applying for anything else and just carry on with the cards I have, since I'm only using them for cashback so don't need the 0% offers on anything.
