So could my partner buy it off the OR? difference is 1500 subjuect to valuation?

Oh absolutely! And you can make a lower offer, because if they were to take it and sell it that process costs £200-£300 so if they value it at £2500 but are only allowing you £1000 it's worth offering them say £1200 to buy out the interest by a third party (your partner) as that is all they would get if claimed and sold once fees and costs are taken into account. As said above, talk to them. All I would say is if you are willing to buy out the interest by a third party, say so right at the start because if they deem the vehicle is either not exempt or too valuable they act very quickly in collecting it. I was given 6 days to get my medical evidence to the OR office to prevent them collecting my car and for them to consider it exempt. He made is clear if I didn't meet the deadline, it would be collected.

  • THing is using a car will cost me £500 a year more in child care( penalties for late pickup) so three years 1500 plus giving me 1000 foir bike is more than bike worth. see silly to me.

Sounds to me you are making excuses!

Surely a car can get you places in the same time frame. There are speed limits for a reason! You could always try leaving earlier, like others would have to.

How do you pick your children up on a bike?
