Animal Friends pet insurance.

Why doesn't this surprise me.

Have a 12 year old dog, Willow. who suddenly had a lump appear on her right leg and she then started to lick it and infected it....stupid lump.....the dog not the lump.

Took her to the vet who could not be sure whether it was cancerous or just a fatty cyst. In for op and lump removed and various after treatments - bill for about £900. Vet completed all the necessary bits and pieces and sent to the Animal Friend's "Feel good insurance"...yeah right.

Letter today...

18/06/2010 "a few small lumps over dorsum, possibly just cysts? Owner to monitor for changes"

Regrettably your policy does not cover pre-existing conditions and your claim has been declined.

Ha ha......the appointment was for boosters, one day before going on holiday. Remember the panic well. No mention made by the vet to my wife about lumps but obviously recorded in notes. Unsure how one lump three years ago, that has since disappeared as we can't find it, is hence a pre existing condition for a lump on her leg three years later.

Gotta laugh..away to check the wife for insanity...just in case it's a pre existing condition.

Having checked online Animal Friends does not have a good reputation. I would steer well clear.

Have sent email back to them and will now report to ombudsman.

:D

Don't let the bu**ers grind you down.....
