best fertiliser for roses?
Hi, i love roses! minatures, patio's, english, you name them i have them! However over the years i have been happy to just water them & spray them & they seem to be happy. However a few of them are now looking a bit 'leggy' & look as if they could do with a makeover! i am thinking fertiliser. Does anyone know of a good one? maybe a specialised one for just Roses.....if there is such a thing?

I think you have left it a bit too late now but you should have cut them down to restore some of their vigour - you might be able to get away with it still? I do this each spring just as they are starting into growth and I put cow poo the base of them and let them get on with it from there, apart from dead heading as they flower.DTD - Doing Tesco Daily - while I still have vouchers!0

Horse manure , there are loads of stables put it at the side of the road either free or 50p a bag , nothing finer!0

thanx! I live in a rural place with horses a mileaway so gonna go with my bucket & ask! i honestly never thought of manure! yes i must admit am a bit guilty of letting my shrub roses run wild. they are at the bottom as a sort of hedge. I do dead head tho, so at least i have done something right!0

HI LEXI
YOU CAN SPRING AND SUMMER FEED
THE BEST FEED IS A POWDER MIXTURE BASED ON TONKS FORMULA
YOU CAN NOW GET IT AS TOP ROSE FERTILIZER
IT CONTAINS NITROGEN ( for growth of leaves, stems & increase plant size
PHOSPHATES(stimulates root growth & speeds up flowering)
POTASH (better blooms & disease resistance)
I THINK WILKO'S MIGHT BE THE CHEAPEST
GOOD LUCK

Banana skins are quite good. I also use a seaweed feed that seems to work well.0
