Bt phoneline for Sky+

We are about to order sky+, however the person we spoke to on the phone seemed to waffle when we asked if we needed a bt phoneline. We are currently with NTL. So surprise surprise my question is do we need a BT phonline to have sky+?

The site says Free Sky box must be connected to a fixed telephone line for 12 months
I can't see where it says it has to be a BT line0 -
I've had Sky installed without a phoneline at all before (had a voip box). Also many people have non-BT lines (not just NTL but Talk Talk, etc) so I would expect you will be fine.0
