American Express Nectar Card - PPI reclaimed successfully

I didn't realise that I had PPI on my American Express card until I received my annual statement through the post. I view my statements on line and on checking you have to scroll down several pages to find the PPI listed.

I called Amex and was advised that the PPI was put onto the card as a result of a phone call in 2008 but that they had no further details. They did however cancel the policy over the phone straight away.

When I received confirmation of the cancellation I wrote back claiming I had no knowledge of this policy and had received no paperwork and would like it refunded plus 8% interest. I received an acknowledgement within a week and a letter from them two weeks later advising me they would refund the premiums plus interest at 8% less tax - success and all for the price of a recorder delivery letter.

This is my third successful claim - first HSBC , then Tesco and now Amex. Thanks to the forum for giving me the confidence to try doing this myself.:money:
