Who makes the better TV?

I am looking to buy a small TV/DVD combi for the bedroom. I've seen a few on the Argos site and wondered which was the best make or are they all much of a muchness? THe choices were Hitachi, Sharp or Bush.

Hi, Bush is usually cheap Turkish crap, nowadays Hitachi are just rebadged cheapo's and Sharp are usually produced by Sharp.

At the end of the day if it's a cheap telly you want for a bedroom then any will probably do, although the Sharp may be more reliable.

Best bet would be to just pick which you consider to be the best picture/sound.

Having had a failure of a Sharp product and very poor customer service from them, I would go with Hitachi out of those 3.

But have you checked Richer Sounds? They tend to stock the top quality makes, as opposed to the second-tier ones that you are looking at, and you get a free £10 off voucher just by signing up to their "VIP lounge". That means you should be able to get a Toshiba 22" with DVD for £149.

ive bought a 26" hitachi from argos a few months ago, its the dvd combi one...i have no issues with it so far..though i did insist they give me one that hasnt been opened (as ive noticed argos have a habit of giving out items that have been opened and returned by customers)

+1 for richer sounds here. you can also get a decently priced extended guarantee out of them.

The Hitachi, Bush, Finlux and most lower priced Sharps and Toshiba's are all made by Vestel in Turkey....

So often it makes no difference, I'm pretty sure Argos bought the rights to use Hitachi's name and so it means nothing these days, it'll be budget TV from whoever makes it cheapest.

Buy a good Telly and Buy a cheap DVD which ever dies first saves you money on replacing both. It is like a Printer/Scanner buy a cheap printer (cost of ink) buy a cheap scanner it will rpobably last longer than you and your pc
