What has the landlord being Lithuanian got to do with anything ?

Trying to add a bit of jazz to a made up story, I'm thinking.

Who is happy when the prices of anything rises?
Maybe they should have been joyful instead? Idiots.

Having happy tenants is worth it for sleepless nights.

Having unhappy tenants can be a worry when the rent just stops coming and if they are very unhappy it can take months and lots of fees and court visits to get them out and then they nearly always wreck the place before they leave.

As a landlord, spending time in a lettings agency is part of your job. The whole "needing to get out more" is only relevant with what someone does with their spare time.

Does a doctor 'need to get out more' because he's seen spending time in his surgery?

yes he should be visiting his patients at home more ofter :rotfl:

  • I just hope Rent Controls are introduced as Landlords are taking the !!!!. Making money is one thing but making people pay for your mortgage instead of their own is quite something else.

If I'm a shop-owner and sell you milk every day, I use the profit to pay my mortgage. Being a landlord is a job just like anything else.

Rents are controlled by supply and demand... always have been and always should be (unless the government do something stupid - and it would be very characteristic of them to do so) :D

    You're kidding aren't you?

Clearly the poster was suggesting he shouldn't have mentioned it.

Mind you you would say that since you're one of the worst fascists on this board.

The reason I find it interesting is because surely, if a Lithuanian has built up a portfolio of 10 properties then it either means they had many when they came here or know how to make the right "moves" here in the UK - we could perhaps learn something from this person.

Anyway I'd better get out of here before the rest of the fascist army turn up - Mr Pickleknickers is lurking around the corner.

    The right moves?

    Learn something?

Rent seeking benefits nobody. They probably have lots of mortgage debt and let housing to jobless Eastern European builders/factory workers on benefits and add nothing to society.

    Two options:
    1. You are able to buy a house if your circumstances allow it and, otherwise, you have the choice to rent
    2. There is no such thing as a landlord and, until you can afford a house, you're on the street

You seem to be an advocate of option 2.

It would be more akin to a Doctor who also happens to own £50 in shares spending his entire time watching stock trackers unless you're suggesting Conrad requires his working week to manage his property 'portfolio'; obviously I jest you were just attempting an analogy, don't let the fact this one stunk put you off trying again in future.
