Itunes accounts - family or individual for 10yo daughter?

Both Mrs K3LVC and I have iPhones and use a joint iTunes account however now our 10yo daughter has an iPod touch.

Before I set this up has anyone any advice/experience on whether this is better linked to my iTunes account or to have a separate account for her (neither of which she'll be given the password to at this stage)

  • You can link up to 9 devices to the same account... We do this so we only have to pay for apps once.
Our 8 year old son is ok, and knows the pass word, but will not download anything, even free until he has asked us.
We haven't got a credit card linked to our account and only use top up cards just to be double safe.

We all have separate accounts created which we use as our ID for iMessage and FaceTime, this seems to work fine for us.
  • I suggest you set up another account. At some stage you daughter will want her own account (I think 13 is the age she can have her own).

That way she has her stuff and you have yours. My guess is there will be limited overlap.
