Lunch break during work

They have also stopped a colleague of mine (from a different department) from going at the same time saying they have to go at 11.30 till 12.30.

As there is no mention of having set lunch breaks in my contract where do I stand? I used to take lunch about 1.30 till 2.30 and there is no shortage on staff during this time and would like to be able to get back to this.

If they want you to take lunches at specific times, then you take them at specific times. You can negotiate different times but there are no laws that say you can take lunch at 1:30 til 2:30 if you don't like the lunch break they have asked you to take.
