Getting really fed-up with Nram now.....

Phone calls everyday telling me they won't accept VS unless I sign the forms. No way am I signing anything. They then threaten me everyday with daily interest rates that I'm accruing due to non-payment and that I'm liable for these fees later on!

I keep telling them that I'm BR, I have VS'd the property back to them via recorded delivery, including all keys and the house is still insured. ( I have the proof of delivery)

I think I'm going to either bar their number or just switch my phone off and get family and friends to ring us via my mobile.

Thoughts?

Sounds like a plan if the calls are too much.

Call you phone service providor and ask for a change of number, the DCA's call centres often block their number or change the number sent, the other option is when they do phone you i assume they are asking you to go through "security" to confirm they are talking to you, either refuse, give completely wrong answers or ask them to go through your security questions so you can confirm they are the mortgage holders of your property, such as "what colour is my front door" or "what is my dogs maiden name" childish I know, but it is can be fun to listen to them search the flow chart in front of them for where to go.
every time I manage to get one more breath into this body, I will sing a song of thanks to you my brothers, my sisters, my friends, may your sleep be peaceful, and angels sing sweetly in your ears.

God damn it, ain't that the truth. They're script reading monkeys. I almost feel embarrassed for them.

On further advice from this forum and other channels, I'm going to send them the 'stop bothering me' template that Fermi has posted and when the phone rings, I'll ask who it is - if they say Nram the phones going stright back on the hook.

In fact, I'm also contacting all important contacts and family and friends to call me or my wife on our cell-phones only - the phones going off for 6 months.

There you go Nram - stuff that in your aggressive phone calling pipes.

  • Sorry - meant to say mobile phone, not cell phone. Living with them dog nabbit, darn, cotton-picking, rootin tootin yankees for 12 years have turned me into a semi-yank:o.

  • I think I must be the only NRAM customer who had to ring them about my repossession as they went at a snails pace with me and apart from the odd letter I rarely heard from them.

I would send a letter asking you to be contacted only in writing.

However for my own amusement I just moaned about my ex every time I was called by a DCA, it was rather nice to have a little rant at their expense of calling me on a daily basis although the security check did sometimes become a little tedious.

Good luck and I hope you get the problem sorted out.

  • If you are BR the secured debt won't fall into the BR until it becomes unsecured (i.e when it is repod and sold on).

I was in this position too. TBH NRAM didn't hassle me at all, but First Plus did - every day: phone calls all the time.

In the end, I just didn't answer. They then instructed a debt collection agency to pursue me.

However, as I was BR and paying 100% of my disposable income in an IPA, there wasn't really anything they could do.

I ignored all calls and letters and SIGNED NOTHING.

Eventually (after 9 months) NRAM repod and the house was sold, at which point all the debt fell into the BR.

I know it's difficult and extremely stressfull, but try and hold your nerve. If you are BR they can threat all they like, but there really isn't a lot they can do.

    Good luck.
  • Yup I'm a NRAM and asked to vs property. But they refused without sign the dreaded form ... But I refused .. Turned landline off and use only mobiles so not sure if they called or not .. Got a letter stating will. Take legal action if I do not sign it well bring it on northern rock that exactly what I want sooner rather than later. I'm leaving out of my mortgage property on Wednesday into my rented and I'm stuck with council tax and insurance on it till they take it ... But it's madness as the end result is BR

Do as I have been advised in here Sunshine - just let Nram get on with it. I too have refused to sign the 'Deed Of Ackowledgement' from Nram - they wrote back and said they would start legal proceedings for repo. Like what ever Nram, get on with it then:)

  • Yup ... Just he whole new council tax class c exemption being removed from 1/4/13 is a pain as I have to pay £100 a month to hem now which. Can't afford so bb to cut back somewhere :-(
  • Good luck to both of you as NRAM don't seem to work in any logical way whatsoever.

I've now had 2 letters and a phone call regarding the repossessed house stating there is still time to stop the process before the bailiffs go in, on account I may want to move back into the house.

Erm ok I moved out 14 months ago quite a considerable distance away, pleaded to repossess for 12 months and so not entirely sure why the woman seemed surprised I hadn't considered that option when she rang. :D
