Getting really fed-up with Nram now.....

  • I too had massive issues with Northern Rock.

I specifically voluntarily surrendered my property prior to filing for bankrupcty in December 2008.

This should have ensured that all my debts with NR, both secured and unsecured were included in the Bankruptcy. At the Bankruptcy hearing the Judge confirmed to me that this was the case.

The following year Northern Rock took me to court twice for repossession. I was concerned that they were trying to secure a precedent to state that I still owed them the secured debt.

Luckily I was represented FOC by a very good court lawyer, at Croydon County Court, who won against NR (he said this was almost unheard of) on both occasions arguing that the standard letter that I had got from this very site fulfilled the correct process and therefore they were already legally in possession of the property.

I was subsequently contacted by a company appointed by NR who said they had been instructed to take possession of the property.

Okay -- but the website could go in to a lot more depth regarding their wrong doings. I'm reading it and all I see is they continued collecting payments for loans with interest despite being non-compliant with the CCA. What I don't understand is a) why this was unlawful; b) whether the repayments they took was in line with the contract or not; c) what the regulator has said about this.

The website is called an action group - but doesn't say what action is being taken!

Its in its infancy and just getting started. Give it time. Its set up by individuals wronged by nram and trying to gather numbers for action.

    Interesting.

Did they cite anything to support that argument?

Sorry - meant to say mobile phone, not cell phone. Living with them dog nabbit, darn, cotton-picking, rootin tootin yankees for 12 years have turned me into a semi-yank:o.

Too true dat, been married to one of them yanks for 8 years and end up adopting bits of their speech annoying as it may be at times
Don't worry it'll all work out in the end

    The latest from Nram:

A letter through the post from Nram today tells me they're sending someone to my address to try and sort out the arrears and anything that they may be able to do to help!! Best of luck to them on that then. I moved out 8 months ago! :-)

Now, I have lost count the amount of times I have had to tell them I'm BR, VS'd my house and keys (to which they have acknowledged) sent copies of my BR petition, spoke to just about every department Nram has - and they still don't get it!

Nram are either extremely poorly run, naive, amazingly thick or have the worlds worst departmental communication arrangement known to man. I suspect all!:p

Pity they didn't show the same compassion when I literally begged them for some slack in my mortgage payments until I recovered from my operation - the whole reason I had to go BR in the first place! To**ers.

Oh, and to cap this latest delight off from Nram - They're going to charge me for the pleasure of their visit. You couldn't make it up, or could you? Hang on, this is Nram we're talking about!:rotfl:

I would say that was about right.

My home visit report was interesting in that they apparently spoke to a new neighbour who didn't even know who I was seeing I had left 10 months before.

I'm not sure if you will get sent a full breakdown of the repossession charges but that one makes even more interesting reading.
