'The One Plan' versus 'The Full Monty'
Options
I have been with 'three' for two years and I am broadly happy with the service. The only problem I have is that the 'in building' signal isn't too good. 'The Full Monty' on T-Mobile seems attractive, but you cannot tether and I believe the download limit is stuck at 4mbps. However, T-Mobile does have GSM coverage and more masts after the Orange merger.
Which is the best option?

I always thought that 3 defers to the T-mobile/Orange GSM network when it's own signal is poor
Best bet is to try a t-mobile SIM out in your phone first0 -
The £16 deal sim only will end soon as it was on special offer again - but after 12 months will revert back to full price.
I moved from 3 to t-mobile as could not get a signal at work.
Its costing me more as I had a good retentions deal but now I can usemy phone so pleased.0 -
I'm on FM and got 6meg download this evening.... plenty fast for a mobile phone.
And Three only use Orange's 2G infrastructure, and that's dwindling by the day.I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -
As per previous posts, I would definitely get a free T-Mobile SIM and try it out first. I personally switched from Three to O2 for the same reason (in building issue, and O2 having a 2G service), but in all honesty it's not much better, and as you say you will miss out on the cheap data benefit of being on Three.0

The price (at the moment!) suggests the Full Monty is the one to go for but it's not so clear cut imo. My son has just bought a Nexus 4 which supports DC-HSDPA (theoretically up to 42mb and 3 have this in our area) and by all accounts The Fully Monty has a 4mb cap in place. Don't also forget the One Plan is just a 30 day commitment as opposed to the 12 month commitment on The Full Monty and pointedly excludes tethering. He's going for The One Plan through topcashback (£35) to test the water. The beauty is that should he be disappointed he can be out of there within a month (and may even make a profit in these circumstances).0
