uniform costs when unemployed

a friend of mine is trying to get a job, and has an interview on sunday.
she currently claims incapacity benefit but wants to come off it.
can she claim help for buying uniform / shoes if she gets the job ??

also would tax credits change her award notice to working straight away as they said she will be entitled to the disability element of working tax if she does over 16 hours, or will it not appear till next april (as they work tc on last years income )
thanks for any help

the tax credits will be recalculated from the date she starts the job as long as she tells them within 4 weeks (i think) of the date she starts, so if she gets the job, then she will need to tell them asap basically.

the uniform issue, i'm not sure about - she could apply for a social fund loan, which is interest free...?

HTH and hope she gets the job! :D
