It's almost impossible to offer any sort of career help without knowing what you do! Are you in admin, sales, accounts, warehousing, etc etc etc?? Perhaps when you have given us some more details we can offer advice and help.0

Oh yeah that would help
It is basically admin in a real mix of companies from local council through to private multinationals its given me a little bit of experience in loads of stuff but never quite enough to feel confident that I could get a job in it.
My confidence isn't helped by the fact that a couple of assignments I have had I was not selected to be kept on. (no real feedback given- you were good but others were better)
All I know is while I don't want to sit at a desk in silence all day I am not comfortable dealing with a lot of customers so I suppose something in a "behind the scenes" role is what I'd like- troube is apart from accounts I am not really sure what that would be- or are they all outsourced to other parts of the world now.
Goodness I hope this makes some sense!"It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice." :T0 -
I don't know if this would be helpful but have you considered any part-time study? I don't know if you'd be able to or not, but if you're feeling a bit limited studying a particular skill part-time could help maybe?0

Funny you should say that I have actually signed up for a course today in SAP (just a generalish introduction really)"It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice." :T0 -

People at risk? Eh?
Sounds like there are redundancies, so they are letting temps go and giving permenant staff who's jobs are also going the chance to apply for any current vacancies they have.
Its normal practise0 -

My temp job is irrelevant anyway I did not want to apply for it I could have but I chose not to."It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice." :T0 -

Thats a very good choice IMO. SAP skills are really in demand at the moment.
SAP salaries are also relatively high. What part of SAP ?
I would suggest deciding on what part of the SAP is the most profitable route.
Check out SAP jobs and salaries.

Thanks. Its a course that covers a lot of stuff (rather annoyingly my home internet has not been working this weekend so not been able to do any of the work) I'm not sure at the moment which part I am interested in hence the course to get an idea of what it is like, I have used it in an accounts payable role briefly in the past but whether that is the area I want to remain in I haven't decided."It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice." :T0
