My wife and I currently spend time looking after an 81 year old lady with no family. She has just spent 10 days in hospital and I have noted that her pay and go gas meter has been using gas at a rate of in between £10 and £13 per day. Has anyone any experience of what I think is an extortionate rate nad how do I get it checked?

If that is correct then obviously it is far too much. There could be a number of explanations.
How have you determined that it is using £10-£13 per day?
Can you tell us what the meter looks like? What displays and buttons does it have on it. Does it have a display which changes when you press a button? If so, can you tell us what the screen says on it with each press of the button?
It might be that she has a huge debt which is being paid off, or it might be that something is wrong.0
