HI- it is a very worrying time but now this hurdle is over- then creditors will have to stop contacting you about debts, you just need to focus on living within your budget for the next five or so years.
I've never had an issue renewing insurances and paying monthly-the issue is that if you didn't pay they would cancel the insurance so they have the upper hand that's my theory as to why it's not a problem. I am still with T Mobile for my phone- I almost changed last year to a cheaper deal but T Mobile (EE) very kindly chopped their contract to the same deal so I've not had to face whether a new provider would accept me but £7 a month which is what I pay is reasonable in anyones books and that has free minutes etc.
You will have trouble with banks- no overdraft facility obviously, and some banks are a little arsy about people with an IVA I hear eg HSBC and First Direct and probably others.
You can relax I think for a while now anyway- well donenow debt free and determined to maintain good spending habits and build savings0 -
Congratulations on getting it passed
We had trouble getting car insurance on pay monthly, kinda got to forget about getting the lowest price as in our case the lowest 10 on the main car were all underwritten by Hastings and we failed the credit check. Still got a good (cheaper than renewal) from LV on pay monthly and the other car is through Swinton on pay monthly. Hopefully we can save enough to pay the cheap quotes outright next time but that might be stretching the budget a bit too far.
Haven't really come up against any other hurdles yet, although I do get nervous when household allowances are getting low near the end of a month as i don't like to dip into the ones that are put by for big spends (car tax etc.)Roll on DFD, final payment 1st October 2017 :beer:0
