Is a credit check required for Santander 123 account?

Mrs MikeTaff opened a 123 bank account just for the cashback and also for the 3% interest rate. She holds the account as near as possible to the £20,000 limit for interest.
She applied for the credit card which we would have used solely for the 3% cashback on petrol...... and was turned down!!!!! :rotfl:
She was not impressed!!
Did make me chuckle though!0
