Recommended friend for £50 vouchers.

Hi
My mum was reclaiming PPI and didn't want to do it herself I couldn't convince her and she was getting hassled over the phone by a company wanting 30%, so I looked around the internet and found one offering 10% and £50 voucher for recommending a friend (lewis waterman).
I filled in the recommendation on their website and they called her and in the end she got a few thousand and paid them after not receiving my voucher I emailed them and here is the reply:

Thanks for your prompt response. Unfortunately this case does not qualify for a recommend a friend voucher, please see our terms and conditions below.

Recommend a Friend £50 Voucher
One £50 voucher per friend

No limit to the amount of clients you can refer.

You have to be an existing or previous client where at least one case was accepted by us.

£50 voucher will be issued upon the claim being won and all fees being paid in full.

The claim value has to be £500 or above.

You can refer as many people as you wish.

The referral needs to be received before the claims application is received by Lewis Waterman Ltd.

Joint policy holders can not refer their partner and the referred client has to agree to have been referred."

Lewis Waterman Ltd reserves the right to end this promotion without prior notice

I dont qualify because I was not a previous client even though they still used my referal. and the terms are only available on request.

Is this allowed? as it isnt clear on their website and you have to request the full terms (which I didn't).

Thanks for any advise.
Ps. can I link to the website referal page. if not it can be googled.
