No, I disagree - the Dell laptop I saw was over a year old and it took me a while to realise what the problem was when I tried to fit a PCMCIA card to it...
It is the same size as a Cardbus/PCMCIA slot but not as deep.

The inspiron 1300 Has an express slot rather than pcmcia, so you won't be able to get a 3g card.

But Tmobile do do a usb modem for laptops. So you should be ok.

Roaming charges are bad! I spent over £100 in spain, It is about £10 a meg!!

That usb gprs/3g modem is an interesting product, didn't know these existed. Wonder if the average older laptop can cope with the usb power draw of one of these. The T-mobile site is shy about giving any specs on this.0

I use my 3G mobile phone as a modem, either connected by cable or usb. Im on Orange on a price matched contract with O2 and get unlimited data for £3 a month. speed is good in 3g areas but gprs isnt so good but it will get you web pages if you are stuck. 3g coverage is getting better so you dont really need to worry about it unless your in the middle of nowhere.0
