TV speakers or soundbar recommendation to use with 19" Philips TV

Hi,

Can anyone recommend an inexpensive set of tv speakers or soundbar to use with a 19" Philips LED TV. I currently use a pair of Philips speakers connected via the headphone socket but that doesn't work with the standard volume control on the TV, so I'm looking for something better. I do have a TV power down plug but if the speakers could automatically turn on and off when sound is detected that would be a bonus.

This is the exact TV I have: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-19PFL3507-19-inch-Widescreen-Ready/dp/B0079UK2S4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1360146445&sr=8-1

Well I'm not looking for anything too expensive or too large. The TV cost me £150 and it's 19" so I don't want something that's larger than the TV and costs £100+.

Richer Sounds have 4 sound bars for under £100.

I'm really looking for recommendations of what to buy rather than where to buy. I'm sure some one must have bought a really good sound system to work with the same or a similar spec TV.

At the price you want to pay, none of the products on offer can be described as a "really good sound system", I'm afraid.
As advised, go to Richer Sounds and ask the staff there to demonstrate some of the models they have in your price range.
