Double Glazing Chip Repair?

Hi

I have a chip in a pretty large double glazed unit.

Unfortunatley due to the size of the unit the cost of repalcing the glass is £374.00:(.

A bit of lateral thinking got me wondering whether it would be possible to repair the chip using a chip repair windscreen service etc?

I would really appreciate any experiences or ideas:A

Thanks
moneysaved

It's a good idea but i don't think it would work. If the seal has been broken and air has got in the gap wouldn't you still get condensation steaming it up.

  • Thanks guys.

Further research I done has me thinking that it may possible but you have to have a lot of things in your favour eg:

    Type of glass
    Size of chip
    Amount of cracks
Whether the seal is intact etc
