Samsung American Fridge/Freezer fault

Hi- bought samsung American fridge/freezer from currys at the end of November 12 - cost £1300 on credit card. Yesterday evening went to get tea out of freezer to find everything defrosting and the fridge not cooling.
Phoned currys this morning who put me through to samsung as their engineers don't repair samsung. Explained to samsung lady who told to switch on and off again to see if that resolved problem - low and behold it started working again. Hang on I said what if this keeps happening - I just keep switching on/off. Surely that's not right for a product of three months old? Well it's working now she said - you don't need an engineer. Have we got to wait now until this happens again and how do we prove a fault? Then spoke with currys again who said there is not much I can do but if I sent picture of frozen food they may compensate! Is there anything else we can do?
Thanks

To start - it may well be that turning it off and on again has fixed the problem for good. Be hopeful!

If it does happen again, make sure you call and report the fault. Alternatively, just tell Samsung that you've tried that (as it fixed it before) but it hasn't worked. I probably shouldn't say this, but I quite often lie to companies to get them to do things I want them to :D
    Squirrel!
If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
