Generally, the fewer job opportunities there are and the more deprived the area, the higher the rate of JSA claims - is this the case in your area? I don't believe in spontaneous mass outbreaks of laziness - unemployment is generally tied to the economy of the area.

Oh I agree, there are no jobs here. Tendring is made up mainly of see-side towns and small villages.

They are some here who just can't be bothered, but I think a lot of the problem is that people are just disillusioned. Last year figures showed there was 7 unemployed for every 1 job vacancy.

Very very few people go to prison for not paying CT. That is only likely to happen if they outright refused to pay, as opposed to making a payment arrangement to cover their debt.

Someone on £71 a week JSA and a two bedroom council flat (as most are)
Bedroom tax + Council tax does not leave enough money to eat.
They are not enough Jobs, the country is haemorrhaging jobs by the day.
They can not pay what they dont have.
A lot of people are going to be getting very angry at these bankers bonus Etonian out of touch idiots who have plenty of cash for bankers and none for their victims.
Will they jail them all ?
I think they have lit a very large fuse under a very big powder keg.
Hungry people can be very dangerous indeed.
This is all going to end in one huge civil commotion.
    Be happy...;)

What if some one has to move to another area to get employment, So they do the right thing get the low paid job but need support with council tax, So they get themselves off JSA pay taxes and get diddly squat. I can see this ending up in a court case. What is happening to this country for goodness sake

As I just said in my last post. Last years figures showed 7 unemployed for every 1 job.
I very much doubt anyone out of the district getting a low paid job here, when so many people already here can't get one.

Ps - I can see this thread getting moved over to DT soon.

You are kidding, When people are desperate for work they will look to up sticks and move around. Any good employer will consider all applicants their is no question about how long you have lived in the county on the application form certainly not the ones I have filled in in the past.

What human right - you can't just bring a claim based on "my human rights". Is it a human right that every individual should receive the same CTB? If so, why is it the case that CT varies by area?

I'm not disagreeing with you about the seeming unfairness of the situation, but if you are talking about legal action you have to establish the relevant grounds, and I cannot see any here.

Well not any-more they won't . Not here anyway. They won't be able to afford to live here

People have the option to move or to have someone move in with them if they are affected by the "bedroom tax".

Are you suggesting that all these hundreds of thousands of people are going to actively refuse to pay? Did hundreds of thousands go to prison when there were problems over poll tax?

    In todays news:
3270 people have lost their jobs today alone in retailing TODAY.
This is the the answer the Government has come up with.
RBS Tax payer owned bank is expected to post losses of 2 billion, the boss expected to pocket bonuses of 2 million, £780,000 in one "instalment"
Yet they have to cut in to the pockets of someone on £71 a week because they lost their job due to banks not lending.
Anyone who thinks this is right is disgusting.
    Be happy...;)
