Holiday Insurance - Why does my travel agent insist on me telling them if i have it

.........
If you have it why not appease the agent and just give them the info, if you haven't why are you risking losing your holiday or the value of it for the sake of a few quid.
Because it is none of their business and people less informed and more vulnerable than you clearly are may feel pressured in to taking out an expensive product from the Agent.
I fully agree that travelling without suitable insurance is foolhardy and I certainly would not expose my self to the risk without it. But that is my choice and I research what is suitable at a sensible price. I would probably not buy a product from an Agent who likes their nice commission payment.0 -
You've obviously never seen a travel agents wage slip lol. But it is their business if they're going to come back when something occurs and they try and blame the TA cause they have no insurance as they claim they weren't informed or sold any.0

I wouldn't buy a policy from a travel agent as it is always more expensive however from my days as a travel agent we'd always offer it - and the client would say "I have it" "My husband can get a better deal through work" or whatever .......three months later something has happened and they come in wanting to cancel for an insurable reason and Oh Dear -they didn't get around to it and are angry they will lose their money................. so in all honesty although I don't like the current practice and it's one of the many reasons I won't use a high street agent....I really can't blame the travel agents for taking this route.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
ie Cuba it must be in your hand luggage and if you can't produce it they put you on the next plane home.
I was not asked for such documents entering Cuba (neither was my GF) and we were definitely not immediately deported!!
(we were however, insured)
