HPI showing finance outstanding?

Options
Hi all

My Mum purchased a brand new car 2 years ago and paid for it in full,no finance.
She has now decided to sell it and I went on hpi to show buyers all clear etc but to my shock it has come up as showing outstanding finance!, now it was ordered from factory and my mum is the first owner. Now she has phoned up the nissan finance company showing on the hpi report and they say they have a clear record for her car,
any ideas why hpi would show outstanding finance?
Many thanks
Lee

Also, on a 'full' HPI report it will tell you who the finance is with.

Ring them and explain. See what they say.

Might POSSIBLY be finance on the car that previously had that reg on it?

That`s what I can`t understand she bought the private plate for her previous car which again was not on finance, will have to see what HPI come back with but if nissan finance is clear then it must be a HPI mistake?

    Thanks again

Was it new, new or pre-registered? Is the supplying dealer still trading? While it's more than likely just a mistake on the system, maybe the dealer had the car stock financed.

Sounds like a wrong keystroke on the mighty HPi system then. They should fix pretty quickly for you.

You are being very nice to the dealer by the sound of it. I'd be raising the issue with them too. You never know if they did get the car through finance for you, it might be they feel a tad guilty about all the hassle.

At the end of the day, it isn't your fault but you are the one having to put it right which doesn't seem quite fair!
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?
