Thank you, I have come to terms in my head that it is probably in another country by now.

I do think as it is near on brand new I should get at least what I still owe the finance company and a little bit more. Thanks for all the advice, its really helpful and good to know that i don't have to accept their first offer, I didn't know that.

I just feel really annoyed that none of this is my fault yet I will be out of pocket no matter what and no car!

You didn't insure the debt you took out to finance the purchase of the car; you insured the car. So the offer from the insurance company will reflect that car's current value, not what you still owe.

They should be using market value to settle. This means that in an ideal world you will not be out of pocket.

I good website to use is Glass's Guide them selves. Think it costs about £3.95 but it will give you a certificate which will show the glass;s guide dealer retail valuation which will really help you with your insurance company as in 99.9 % of cases it will be this value that they will use to settle and you may be surprised.

As for cars being difficult to steal without keys, that is true but if you give someone enough time and enough opportunity and they want it bad enough they will take it no matter what.

I know it is easy for me to say but at least the car was written off because it was stolen and no-one was hurt.

    Good luck

  • just to give you a some positive feedback i had a claim with admiral for a car written off couple of years ago and they actually paid me more than market value it was old car and i was armed with prices for when they made an offer and the first offer they made me was more than i paid for the car lol

My car has been stolen, its a stressfull time, I asked for advice not stating the ovious and sarcasm!

I read that post as empathy rather than sarcasm.
All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.
