Housing 'Top Gun' Nick Boles rapidly rose to fame last year as the renters' champion. Promising to rail-road NIMBYs and redress the boomer imbalance in housing he has posited an ambitious campaign of green belt building to provide young working people a decent chance to build a home, just like their parents had.
But Boles admits he is nervous about the effect of mass migration from Romania and the EU.

Boles, gunning for NIMBYs, unnerved by Europe

I must say I find it embarrassing the way this govt have made our country look like pathetic racists in this whole affair, even the the new entrants (in 2014) are taking the !!!! out of us.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0

They have done nothing to control immigration but plenty to damage our image and reputation. If you disagree explain to me what they have done to control immigration?'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. There is nothing they can do about EU immigration other than offer us a referendum on EU where we can opt to leave. This will allow the government to then put limits on immigration from the Eurozone. They are controlling immigration more from outside of the EU, but its a long slow process and change doesnt happen overnight.0

So why has our reputation been dragged through the mud? for nothing?'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. Of course, must of us can see nothing wrong with us buying property in Bulgaria and going to live over there.
As soon as you start wanting to treat people differently based on where they were born, or refusing to give people freedoms that you demand for yourself, then I'm afraid that accusations of racism are inevitable.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.0 -

Watching Newsnight last night it appears that our country is one of the backers for Turkey to join the EU, I am not sure how that that squares with all this anti immigration bluster from the govt? Just done a Google,PM backs Turkey's EU bid
Tuesday 27 July 2010
Prime Minister David Cameron has said he will fight for Turkey to become a member of the European Union as he addressed business leaders in the country's capital Ankara.

The previous UK government managed to put a time limit on Romanians & Hungarians. That deadline is approaching - don't see why the current government government can't extend this.
We're being manipulated - take 'millions' of gypsies or leave the EU - is there really no other choice?0 -

The EU had a provision to delay the free movement of people from these two countries which the UK chose to exercise
there is no EU provision available to extend it.0
